EDUC 7207 X
Lesson
Plan: Character Education/Social Networking
Interactions:
1.
Class Introduction: Students will be asked to
introduce themselves as a class. The class will be divided into groups and
asked to focus on assigned topics such as: town culture, school culture,
curriculum, social outlet, and extracurricular activities. The students will
create a Google document for each of the topics; this document will be posted
to our introductory blog. The students are permitted to post additional
comments and pictures when appropriate. The partnering class will be creating a
class introduction blog as well.
2.
The students will complete a survey based on
social media. The results of this survey will generate ideas, questions and
beliefs in response to social media. The students will report out on the survey
results in a discussion on the class blog. http://www.afb.org/Section.asp?Mode=Survey&SurveyID=102
3.
The students will read and respond to the
article "Kids and Social Networking: Pros
and Cons". They will correspond with the partnering class to create a
discussion based on their opinion on our blog.

The blogging responses demonstrate an integration of
concepts and principals from classroom discussions and reflect an understanding
of fundamental principles surrounding the problems and myths surrounding
homelessness.
|
Postings frequently demonstrate use of upper level
thinking (analysis, synthesis, evaluation) and illustrate a thoughtful
approach to the content.
|
The blogging responses share personal connections to the
topic of homelessness while at the same time integrating the information from
class readings. Postings apply course concepts insightfully.
|
The writing from blogging posts is clear, concise, and
easy to understand. Ideas and responses are communicated clearly and
coherently.
|
The responses are submitted on or before the due date.
